A woman was seriously wounded on Thursday morning by a bomb explosion in a rubber plantation in Yala’s Raman district, police said.
Pol Lt-Col Songwut Sri-aram, chief of Jakua police station, said Seri Sumboon, 45, was working in the rubber plantation in tambon Talo Halo when a home-made bomb planted at the foot of a rubber tree went off. Her right leg was severely injured.
She was admitted to Yala Regional Hospital.
A team of forensic police was despatched to the scene to scour the plantation since several home-made bombs have exploded earlier in the area, wounding a number of villagers.
